SLS: Ongoing Ticket - Improving Initial Registration
as discussed, lets add a list of "things to do to make initial registration better", which means any of quicker, more accurate, more reproducible. We acknowledge the fact that the main feature stopping the registration working was as of Pig 2, the deformation.
| Item | Man days to Implement | |--------|-------------------------|- | 1. Difficulty could be the fact, you have to click on the radio button, which moves the hand holding the cursor. Ask someone else to do it. | 0 days | | 2. We previously mentioned some kind of sensitivity gearing. There is currently a preference that is unused. Not sure how useful this is, as there is a limit to the range of movement of a hand held pointer, so if you reduce the sensitivity so that a larger movement is required for a smaller transformation update, you will be able to do small slow movements, but not as much range. | 1 day | | 3. Stereo display, side by side using existing OverlayEditor | 2-5 days | | 4. Periodic surface reconstruction, and give a live update for a measure of distance, so you are minimising a number and the view. This might help guide the hand movements. | 2-3 days | | Output stereo displays, to Viking 3D screen, and do 3D proper 3D visualisation | | | 5. Hand held pointer, with button to select "now", so you can move and select one handed. | | | 6. Display a representation of the calibrated video image in the 3D view, i.e. the plane you are projecting onto, and lines outwards from the centre of projection, then try matching in 3D to stereo sets of lines. (does this make sense). | |
